Monsters Inc. Mike Nails

To start with sorry for the huge MIA i've had a lot to deal with lately which involved my nails being too short for any real nail art so I had nothing to post and didn't really feel like posting without the art seeing as it sucked for me that I couldn't do it anyway. I'm back now though :) and have just started using acrylic paints to help with it so I thought I’d try something a bit more complicated. This are my Monsters Inc nails :p only Mike this time though so I’m thinking of doing the other characters as separate manicures? Well its good to be back :) as always hope you like the nails.

Rainbow's

Not going to lie, I often get stuck for ideas for designs :/. Luckily I was talking to someone about my nails who just said I should do this one, so I did, because they asked. I think its easier like that because you know someone other than yourself will appreciate the end product :).
I did this with a sponge and a bunch of different colours. I was just asked for rainbow's but I thought it needed a little added too it, the glitter on the thumb is holographic which I thought would fit in nicely. Not sure what I think of it really, I liked the sponged rainbow's but no one else I spoke to seemed to.

Bikini Bottoms

I couldn't find a design in my backlog that I really wanted to upload today :/ So I have one that I did just before the summer to match a pair of bikini bottoms. Originally I was just testing it out so I could do it on my toes, but I never got round to this.

And because the design wasn't great and I found this photo in the same folder, here’s the coffee mug from Central Perk in Friends :p. Not a very clear photo but I like to do little pictures on my nails when I’m bored sometimes, these are usually things I don't have a whole design for :).

I know I pretty much disappeared for the summer without saying anything :/ Sorry. But I’m back now and will get back to regular posting (Wednesdays and Sundays hopefully).

I bought a lot of new polishes before the summer and the base of this design was one that I hadn't got round to trying. Initially I was just going to paint my nails without any art but I thought the colour was a bit horrific :p which inspired me to paint a little cute monster on them. I like the way it turned out, sorry for the shocking photo, I’d already been wearing the mani for a few days before I took the picture so it was chipped and had some indents.

I didn't think the green was so bad in the end :).

Bon Jovi Nails

This post is as promised (starting to keep to my promises :p) and is of the Bon Jovi design I did on my old blog. When I looked back at these pictures I realised they where actually worse than my badly done ones, so looks like I should have more faith in my improved nail art. Oh well I don't have any pictures of the new ones (Just thought I may have one on Facebook, will go check).
The clean up is bad and the lines are messy :/ But I’m a big Bon Jovi fan and at the time I remember being impressed with myself for these nails :p.

Oh and I did find one photo my friend took at the concert of my singular nail :p

Red Vines Pattern

My sisters boyfriend is taking her to Cadbury World for her birthday today :) So we attempted a Dairy Milk manicure but this went pretty badly :/. My sister is also into quilting and was showing me some fabrics while we where doing her nails, and this one ended up being painted on my nails.
We thought it was ironic that we spent about an hour on hers and it turned out pretty bad and then mine took about 10 minutes and it was a design we both quite liked :p.

I understand that I don't list the nail varnishes used. Currently I use cheap varnishes a lot and the patterns are normally done in these nail art pot things so there isn't really much point. When I feel rich and get a lot more decent polishes to do my designs with then maybe I will, but for now my blog is just a place to get ideas for your own nails :) and to show what’s on mine. If you do ever do a version of one of mine I’d love to see it.

Prom Ticket

I'll start by saying sorry, I said I was going to post my design Thursday and I didn't. This was only because a few things happened Thursday morning which effected my concentration so the design turned out badly. Originally I was going to show you my Bon Jovi nail design :) As I went to see them in Hyde Park on Saturday but it was worse than my old one in the end so I’ll just show you that at some other point.

Today's design however was inspired by my trip to Bon Jovi. There is a door on my cupboard which I keep tickets for everything from trains to cinema, only ones I don't really keep are buses :p. I was looking there when I put my tickets up from the weekend and I decided to try and do my last years prom ticket. Overall I wasn't really impressed with this either :/ But I’m planning a few designs that I should be able to pull off a lot better soon :).
